Flying in to Managua you will head to one of Nicaragua's beautiful colonial towns: Leon or Granada. Leon is your springboard for hiking in the dramatic Maribios volcano chain, and from Granada you can jump on a boat across Lake Nicaragua to explore the mythical island of Ometepe, with it's twin volcanic cones and spectacular forests and waterfalls.
In addition to a couple of days of exciting hiking, you will be able to take part in a rewarding short service project either in Leon or on Ometepe Island, before enjoying a day of rest and relaxation back in Leon or Granada, taking in historic atmosphere and great markets.
Day 1 - Depart US, arrive Managua, head to Leon or Granada
Day 2 - Service project
Day 3 - Service project
Day 4 - Service project
Day 5 - Trekking - Maribios volcanoes or Ometepe Island
Day 6 - Trekking - Maribios volcanoes or Ometepe Island
Day 7 - Trekking - Maribios volcanoes or Ometepe Island
Day 8 - Head to R&R destination
Day 9 - R&R, back to Leon or Granada
Day 10 - Depart Managua, arrive US
