The expedition program
A World Challenge program can take anywhere from 10 to 20 months and culminates in an expedition to the developing world. Our expeditions are more than just an educational tour as the students complete a powerful personal journey guided and delivered by World Challenge staff and their teachers.In choosing to join a World Challenge expedition, students don’t just sign up for a trip, they build a once-in-a-life-time journey with their team mates. The team will design their own unique itinerary according to their interests and goals; this itinerary will then be thoroughly researched and risk assessed by World Challenge.
While on expedition, students will rotate through various leadership roles and manage many of the day-to-day logistics of their own adventure. Of course, the team will also be supported by experienced guides and the most up-to-date safety technologies available. Students will spend the months before departure getting to know their teammates, planning their itinerary, and earning funds towards their expedition.
