Ecuador is an extremely diverse destination with something for everyone. Although one of the smallest South American countries, it is packed with varied landscapes from the peaks of the Andes to the lowlands of the Amazon. Though not required, this expedition is a great place to practice your Spanish skills.

Treks through the Andes offer off the beaten path destinations of volcanoes, crater lakes and descend into cloud forests; all where you will seldom see another tourist, only locals. Students will hike through small villages, shop at indigenous craft markets and glimpse glaciers. All treks will challenge students to push their limits and reap the rewards of amazing vistas.

Service projects in Ecuador are tremendously varied. Past teams have renovated schools, assisted in eco-tourism initiatives (such as building educational medicinal plant trails), helped out on community coffee plantations, built playgrounds and soccer fields, developed organic fruit and vegetable gardens for communities, or organized sports competitions for the local children.

Finally, students will have the opportunity to enjoy a thrilling day of one or more of the following options: white water rafting, zip lining in the cloud forest, relaxing at the hot springs or visiting a local craft market before heading home.
