Sitting between North Africa’s Red Sea and the East African Rift Valley, Ethiopia has a rich medieval history and provides one of the continent’s most dramatic and beautiful landscapes. Ethiopia’s trek routes are some of the best in Africa, and can be either on horseback or on foot, taking students through the stunning scenery of the Simian Mountains.
This expedition has a large service component with school based projects involving construction, education and sports. Students will live in small communities providing much needed assistance to the local people.
Students will have the opportunity to take part in a traditional coffee ceremony as well as visit medieval 17th century castles, palaces and monasteries. Ethiopia is one of Africa’s most unexpected and historically bountiful destinations, and will provide students with a life-changing expedition they will never forget!
