Acclimatization phase
After spending some time exploring the city, you’ll ease your way into expedition life by completing some gentle treks through the jungle or at low altitude hill stations. This will give you an opportunity acclimatize to the heat and get used to carrying your rucksack before embarking on your main trekking phase.
Main trekking phase
Your main trek will take you through thriving ancient jungles that are rich with flora and fauna. Treks will typically last between four to seven days, and you’ll be privileged to have the opportunity to explore both primary and secondary jungle environments. During your trek you’ll learn how to set up jungle camps and hear all about outdoor survival techniques from your knowledgeable guides.
Project phase
You’ll spend your project phase helping with valuable community or conservation work. Previous teams have worked at local children’s homes, helped out at schools for children with special needs, participated in tree planting schemes and assisted with turtle conservation efforts.
Rest and relaxation
Borneo and Malaysia offer lots of relaxation opportunities. You could sample the local food at one of the bustling night markets, shop for souvenirs in the nearby shopping malls or batik shops, kick back on a pristine beach to catch some rays, or maybe even take on a white water rafting challenge.
