Online Marketing Co-ordinator

As part of the Specialist and Activity sector within the TUI Group, World Challenge plans and delivers exciting, educational expeditions to over 50 destinations within the developing world, from South America to Mongolia!

We offer the opportunity for high schools to enter into a program of learning and development; fundraising; and team building, culminating in a 1-4 week Expedition to the developing world. Our aim is to ensure that the young challengers experience an awe-inspiring range of service project work, trekking and cultural adventure.

We are now seeking an Online Marketing & Communications Coordinator to join our lively, Boston-based team. This position will be responsible for planning, researching, and writing SEO web copy; uploading and editing the content and images on the website via a Content Management System; managing and evaluating online campaigns; driving web traffic by improving SEO; analysing site statistics and working with web developers to improve site performance.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the site and ensure the information is accurate
  • Test the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions
  • Manage content style and frequency with which it will need updating
  • Produce new content reflective of the World Challenge brand (fun!)
  • Incorporate written copy onto the website from other individuals or departments
  • Source images and artwork
  • Decide on how images and other material will be digitally optimised and presented for the web
  • Manage the image library of expedition photographs
  • Design page content with images, buttons and other layout features
  • Develop editorial policies, copyright, data protection and best practice
  • Design and deliver online campaigns to drive traffic and leads
  • Analyse statistics to determine the popularity of the site and how many hits/visits it receives
  • Create, edit and execute email templates for email marketing campaigns
  • Convert offline media into web medium
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of graphic design packages such as Fireworks or Photoshop in order to produce basic layout and manipulate images
  • Experience of using content management systems and FTP
  • Experience of writing web pages in a combination of coding languages, such as HTML and XHTML, CSS (desirable)
  • Experience managing a web presence and copy writing for SEO
  • Ability to run, deliver and evaluate online campaigns using a range of digital media
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Creative, able to alter style of writing to reflect the user audience and follow style guidelines
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work schedules, work to tight deadlines and have excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work closely with a web designers/developers and project managers and marketing professionals to include a global (UK based) and local team
  • Knowledge of the difference between writing for web and print, and overall web conventions

This position may be project based or a permanent position depending on the candidate. The position is located in our Boston, MA office.
