Fly into Costa Rica where you'll have a number of options for an exciting trekking adventure. Head north to the misty Monteverde Cloudforest Reserve and spectacular nearby Arenal Volcano area for short, but challenging, day treks. For something longer, the dramatic but seldom visited volcanic landscape of Rincon de la Vieja - with it's bubbling mud pots, waterfalls and hot springs - provides plenty of variety. Or for something completely different teams can complete a challenging 3 day trek across the Continental Divide from the highlands all the way down to the Pacific Coast.
Depending on where you trek there will be a day for some other activities too. Whether white water rafting, zip-lining, or just chilling on the beach - R&R is the perfect end to your Costa Rican adventure!
Day 1 - Depart US, arrive San Jose
Day 2 - Head to trekking area: Monteverde & Arenal, Rincon de la Vieja, or Continental Divide
Day 3 - Trekking - Monteverde & Arenal, Rincon de la Vieja, or Continental Divide
Day 4 - Trekking - Monteverde & Arenal, Rincon de la Vieja, or Continental Divide
Day 5 - Trekking - Monteverde & Arenal, Rincon de la Vieja, or Continental Divide
Day 6 - R&R - zip-lining, white water rafting, beach (options depend on trekking area)
Day 7 - R&R, then return to San Jose
Day 8 - Depart San Jose, arrive US
