The Nicaragua expedition will involve teams visiting a fascinating colonial Spanish city, soaking up the sun and the culture of Grenada, climbing the two volcanoes on Ometepe Island and finishing with some well earned chill out time on the Pacific Coast in the town of San Kuan del Sur.

Some possible objectives for the Nicaragua expedition are given below, please note these may alter between now and your expedition. The Expedition Programme Manager for Nicaragua will agree a suitable expedition itinerary with you, to best match the abilities and aspirations of your team.

Acclimatization phase
Teams will have the opportunity to get used to the unique Nicaraguan culture and become accustomed to the climate as they visit Ometepe Island and undertake two volcano ascents. Grenada offers a great cultural experience and a stunning natural environment.

Trekking phase
The main trekking challenge will be to climb five volcanoes from the Maribios volcanic chain in five days. New treks are currently being added to the itinerary, so expect lots of exciting jungle and mountain options.

Project phase
Nicaragua is part of the developing world and teams will find that they can make a real difference here. The enthusiatic local children will appreciate the effort!

Rest and relaxation phase
The Pacific Coast is the perfect place to soak up some sun on one of Nicaragua’s pristine beaches.
