Some possible expedition objectives for Sri Lanka are given below. Please note these may alter between now and your expedition. The Expedition Programme Manager for Sri Lanka will agree a suitable expedition itinerary for you, to best match the abilities and aspirations of your team

Project work in Sri Lanka
The project work is likely to take place in schools along the south coast between Galle and Tangalle, in the centre of the country around Kandy, or in the hills surrounding Nuwara Eliya. The project phase will last around 12 days, which will allow teams time to really settle into the community. The projects are likely to involve some manual labor, such as creating recreation grounds, painting buildings or improving basic facilities in a local school.
Teams will have the opportunity to teach English classes and run sporting events which will help them get to know the friendly locals.
Trekking
Sri Lanka offers a number of opportunities for short treks in the lush countryside. The acclimiatization walks around Nuwara Eliya and Ella take in some incredible views as teams hike through tea plantations.
There are some longer trekking opportunities such as climbing Sri Pada, known as Adam's Peak, the summit of which is a pilgrimage site where teams can see an imprint of what is believed to be Buddha's footprint. Another option is a trek on Horton Plains, where teams can see the breathtaking ‘World’s End’ or a hike into the Knuckles Mountain Range.
Rest and relaxation in Sri Lanka
Where the rest and relaxation phase takes place depends on where teams spend their project phase. There are opportunities for teams to chill out on one of the many unspoilt beaches or visit one of the turtle hatcheries. Teams can explore the stunning hill country or there are more cultural options such as visiting Kandy and the temple housing Buddha's tooth.
For those seeking more action, teams can take a jeep safari in one of the National Parks to see the wild elephants, feed baby elephants at the elephant orphanage at Pinnewala, or spend some time visiting tea plantations or spice gardens. White water rafting is also available to provide an exciting end to the expedition.
