Fundraising

Get involved with expedition fundraising!

Last year, Challengers raised an average of 60% of the cost of their expedition.

At World Challenge we believe fun, educational expeditions should be accessible to all students and our Money Management Program has been helping students raise expedition funds for over 22 years.

Students who raise a significant portion of the program costs experience a greater personal connection to their expedition – and enjoy the satisfaction of a goal achieved.

Money matters...

Admissions officers and future employers look for candidates who can demonstrate motivation, broad experience and a well-rounded education. Funding your expedition gives you the chance to learn the following skills along with the rest of your expedition travel and safety training:
  • Motivation and goal achievement
  • Budgeting and managing money
  • Financial planning, target setting and record keeping

How we can help...

At every step of the fundraising process, World Challenge is there to offer support. We offer a full range of tools to help students meet goals.
  • Scheduled meetings with World Challenge

Do something seasonal
Students from the Manchester Essex High School team kick-started the summer with a Plant & Bake sale. It was a huge success – they earned $2000. Students sold cookies, cakes, veggie plants and hanging flower baskets at school. The sale ran from 9am to noon on a sunny Saturday morning (a strategic time choice as this is when most folks are out and about on the weekends).

Timeless trends
Students (and a few parents) from Sharon High School organized a Tupperware Party at one of their homes. The team earned $200 (20% of all event sales and 40% of all catalog sales). Sales continued after the event online and the team still got to earn! Students served snacks and offered guests a “free gift” if they brought a friend. Friends, neighbors, and colleagues were all invited.

Themed events
The Sturgis High School team did something a little out of the ordinary: they went to the beach – in the middle of January! And, with temperatures well below freezing, they jumped into Cape Cod Bay. This sponsored “jump” earned some students $600 towards their expedition?
