Fly into San Jose and head off to your community service or conservation project site. Service projects are tremendously varied. Past teams have organized village or school beautification initiatives, taught English, or organized sports assisted by the local school children . Others have worked more organically collecting seeds, planting trees or building vegetable gardens. There may also be the opportunity to help with important turtle conservation activities. No matter what project the team takes on, the end result will be the same - an opportunity for cultural immersion and making new friends that last a lifetime.
Depending on the location of your project, there will be a day for some other activities too. Whether white water rafting, zip-lining, or just chilling on the beach; a little R&R is the perfect end to your Costa Rican adventure!
Day 1 - Depart US, arrive San Jose
Day 2 - Head to service project (N.B. it might be possible to split the project between community and conservation work)
Day 3 - Service project
Day 4 - Service project
Day 5 - Service project
Day 6 - Service project
Day 7 - Service project
Day 8 - R&R - zip-lining, white water rafting, beach (options depend on project area)
Day 9 - R&R, then return to San Jose
Day 10 - Depart San Jose, arrive US
