Costa Rica 14 day service

14 day service expedition to Costa Rica

Fly into San Jose and head off to your community service or conservation project site. Service projects are tremendously varied. Past teams have organized village or school beautification initiatives, taught English, or organized sports assisted by the local school children . Others have worked more organically collecting seeds, planting trees or building vegetable gardens. There may also be the opportunity to help with important turtle conservation activities. No matter what project the team takes on, the end result will be the same - an opportunity for cultural immersion and making new friends that last a lifetime.

After your project you can either visit two areas for shorter treks, or focus on one main trek. Shorter options include the misty Monteverde Cloudforest Reserve and spectacular nearby Arenal Volcano or the dramatic but seldom visited volcanic landscape of Rincon de la Vieja, with it's bubbling mud pots, waterfalls and hot springs. Or teams can plan for something a bit more challenging. Choose a 3 day trek across the Continental Divide from the highlands all the way down to the Pacific Coast. For a longer trek teams can climb Cerro Ena or head to the beautiful rainforest fringed beaches of the Osa Peninsula.

Depending on where your project and trek are there will be a day for some other activities too, both in the middle and at the end of your expedition, whether white water rafting, zip-lining, or just chilling on the beach - the perfect end to your Costa Rican adventure!
